It’s been a while. In the intervening year between when I shut down Coffee Time and started exploring other avenues, I’ve come to the realization that I lost track of my goal. I can’t help create a better world if I keep fooling around!

Better to work on a platform that I already invested in than try rewriting something that obviously worked. I feel like I was trying out the new tech to attract people to help me out.

Well, that seems to be a fool’s errand.

Instead, let’s see about building stuff that I can use!

The impetus during the height of the pandemic (which, let’s face is, is still ongoing) was to build a place to have good human conversation without exposing people to the potential of contracting a possibly deadly virus. And I feel like we were well on our way, when all of us got distracted.

Well, my long distraction has ended.

We are back. And, we even have a bit of new functionality!

Now, you can host a conversation that doesn’t require people to vote on topics. Just build the agenda and process it however you want.

Also, there are no paid/unpaid functions. Everybody can use every part of the site. If it turns out there’s actually a lot of demand and I can’t figure out how to afford the necessary infrastructure (currently on a $5/mo plan on Linode), we can have that conversation. For now, I encourage people to use the system!
